Isn't it the case that all wool in the UK has to be sold to the British Wool Marketing Board at a SET price? I always thought that's why it's not easy to make a living from wool...
If you have a look at their site you can see just how little the farmers get for the fleeces

Lets see if thats worked...
You've linked to the folder there, not the actual photos.
If you mouse over the pics, then select the IMG tag at the bottom and copy that, then paste it into here that should work. Do that for each pic.0 -
Great....it worked. The top picture is some dirty wool and the bottom is some washed wool. I am really pleased with how clean it has come up. I was quite gentle with it so as not to felt it but it doesn't look as neat as yours gazing on sunsets...does it look ok to you?Tess x

Erm, now that's just a little bit rude don't you think? *reported*0 -
Hi Kevin,
My friend has to sell to the wool marketing board....they are the ones who pay her 30p a fleece. Its such a shame as its a great natural resource and is really versatile.
Hi Pelirocco,
Yum, yum, thank goodness for lamb :-)
My friend makes her money from the meat but both her and her husband have other jobs too in order to make ends meet.
I have some wool soaking in the sink and my kitchen has a lovely wet wool smell in it :-)

Truth is its own defence, and spreading fear based on random supposition and absence of facts deserves highlighting. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
