Today I pulled some Swiss chard, purple sprouting broccolli and baby carrots...homegrown, tasty and cheap as chips.
I also found one of the easiest/most effective ways of saving a few sheckles is not to snack, good breakfast, hearty lunch, wholesome tea.0 -

Happy birthday nomorespending! What a fab goal you've set yourself! Are you going to put your backdated pay and £50 extra a month towards the debt? It'll add up pretty quickly I'm sure! Well done!
And welcome to Mazzy and thriftyscotslass! This is indeed a marvellous thread for motivation and cheeriness
Rachel - glad your first day went, er, wellI'm sure you did great!
I've been in w*rk all day, so a few little 'already done' things for me:
* read gas meter
* cycled 12 miles to work before/after train - saved myself 50p bus fare (it's amazing what I'll go through these days to save that 50p)
* found 2 free lunch vouchers for a cafe that I got yesterday and forgot about
* bought fruit and yogurt on way to work (ok cos comes out of food budget) but no chocolate
* did 2 lightspeed surveys - 120 points
* took lunch to work
Think that's it for today! Absolutely worn out, and got to leave for work at 6.45am tomorrow, so won't be doing anything else tonight either...
Sleep well everyone
