  • You're all kidding yourselves - its much worse than you think. The reality of it is that the drilling was so deep a crack has now appeared in the earths crust and the presure is causing it to propagate along the surface. Eventually the crack will go all the way around the eaths circumference at which point the Earth will be split into two hemispheres which will slowly drift away from eachother with the obvious consiquences.

I'm not sure how this will affect the price of gold and oil though.

On the positive side, we're all gonna die.

    But not today, hopefully. ;)

Yeah, the price of a ticket for me to fly home to visit my Dear Old Mum will increase in price. Do you think I should book now?

Any chance they can make sure we're on a different half to the French?

oh come on, the cheese eating surrender monkeys aren't that bad.

And my shares in the euro tunnel would crash if we were on a differnt half (unless of course they can fit in an extending bit that fits neatly like the hose on a dyson)

Keen to check up on Asherons story I used the BP station this morning to fill up. Normally I use Esso because I prefer their brand of High Grade petrol, helps the Yugo get up hills. Anyway I engaged the attendant in conversation about the drilling problem and it was the first she'd heard of it. I mentioned the name Asheron and was met by a blank look. But she did point me towards their special offer on large packs of Cheddars, although I am less fond of these now my teeth have departed.

So no panic here, although we have stopped blessing Obama in Sunday service.

Sorry but this looks a bit fake. I could be wrong but I did study a few modules in geology and geohazards, fluid mechanics and water bore holes at uni.

Funny you posted that you were a policeman - I never knew policemen studied such things.

I love how the British have a sense of humor even when things are bad :)
