dress alteration help, please?

ok finally got to see my dress today, the lady has taken up the bottom fine and i'm happy with that, but instead of taking in the bodice like she said she was goling to, she has "trained the boning" is this normal? or has she just fobbed me off to get rid of me? it does fit a bit better but i'm wondering if i need to take it somewhere else, also is it even possible to alter the bodice in the just under 4 weeks i've got left????

Is this the one where you were waiting for your dress for five weeks - the family friend? (sorry, I read a lot of threads without posting!)

How does the dress feel on - does it feel comfortable or would you have wanted it tighter/better fitting?

It should be possible to do alterations with 4 weeks, but if she took 5 weeks last time, would it be doable to go elsewhere?

yes its the family friend, shes had it for months & i'm wondering if she didnt want to admit that she wasnt skilled enough to do it, i would have liked it too be a bit tighter, she said that it was because i had lost weight, which i dont think i have, think i might try and fing a dressmaker and see what they think?

also the lace up back should the gap at the top be wider than the bottom or smaller or the same size? i thought it should look like this http://www.perfectweddingguide.com/images/tags/dresses/condo0047.jpg

but mine is smaller at the top

I've never heard of the term train the boning but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Generally sides are taken in and then the boning is re stitched.

Corset back closure- this generally can be about 5" wide at the top narrowing to the bottom. People think that the lacing will pull in tighter to make the adjustments. Ok for minimal but not dress size reduction. The corset back needs to remain in proportion so sides will still need to be taken in.

If the top is smaller than the bottom, we have a problem Houston.
