I needed a few adapters and found these on Amazon,

Uk - Us for 97p delivered
Uk - Eu for 80p delivered

These are good quality - I've just had mine delivered and they're no worse than the ones from Boots - however I've not seen them in action yet!

    glad it helped!

I was warey when I read the feedback but I was charged the right price (no other odd payments gone out since I got them) and the products look basic but that's what I expected for less than £1!

That's much better than I did at Asda yesterday -- got two for £3. (They also had a small travel kettle for £9 if that helps anyone.)

I normally take a small extionsion lead with 4 sockets with me. That way you only need 1 or 2 adaptors and all your uk plugs can be plugged into the extension. Great for hair dryers, straighteners, irons, games consoles etc.

Also usually available from the 99p store or Poundland or Inexcess for 67p if you have one nearby.

Just don't plug all of that lot in at once - kettles, irons, straighteners and hair dryers all pull a lot of power, so ideally should be plugged into a socket directly on their own, otherwise you're liable to blow fuses/trip breakers/start a fire

I do pretty much the same, except that while over wherever I'm going, I go to a local hardware shop and buy a local plug. Then I rewire the UK 4-way extension to have a plug directly on the end, and in future take that with me when going there again.

Main advantage other than having a set of UK sockets available is that it seems safer to have the extension plugged in directly than hanging off an adaptor, especially regarding earthing, plus the individual plugs are often cheaper than the cost of an adaptor.

We have a holiday home in Brittany and leave a UK adaptor out for our guests. Of course the adaptors often go "walkies" so I end up having to buy new ones at an all too frequent basis.

If you go into Asda, Tesco and the like they adaptors are £3 or more each, and at the airport or on the ferry you can easily pay £8 for what is a bit of plastic and metal. I've thus been buying adaptors from the Poundland or similar shops for the last few years - the best I've got is 2 for £1 in one of the cheapie shops. Bought a large stock at that price !
I'd be happier on holiday in Brittany than being at work !
