Car Allowance and milage rates- can I claim

My company pays me £2,500 car allowance per annum and this is paid monthly but is taxed. I returned my comapny car in September and have used my own car since. My mileage is excessive to say the least.
Since September 2009 I have done about 15,000 business miles. I only get reimbursed 0.12p per mile
Can I claim from the inland revenue as I am now seriously out of pocket as a result and I really need to replace my car due to the excessive mileage:A

You should be able to claim a tax rebate on the difference between the HMRC rate (40p per mile for up to 10k; 25p per mile over 10k) and the rate you are paid.

So if you did 10k, you'd get the tax rate on the 28p diffference; i.e about 5.6p per mile, i.e. £560
