HELP! Mortgage - temporary employment contract

Hi guys,
My partner and I are looking to buy our first house together. We have a substantial deposit but as the property we have found needs some rennovation work we would possibly be looking at a 85-90% mortgage. We are FTB and have nothing to sell.
My partner has recently started a new permanent job and is on £19000 per annum. I am currently employed on an 18 month fixed term contract and am now nearly 12 months into it. I am earning £21000 per annum. I am currently seeking a permanent position and have a couple of interviews lined up in the coming weeks.
We have both worked continuously since leaving university and our credit rating is good.
With our current situation (Partner permanent, Myself on a fixed term contract but looking for alternative employment at a similar wage) would we be eligible for a mortgage?
Please help!
