Nationwide mortgage applications

I know it is impossible to say how long our mortgage application (made Thursday 10/06/10) is going to take, but has anyone recently obtained a nationwide mortgage or processed one and could give me an idea how long they are currently taking to get to offer stage.
Thanks

We are in the process at the minute.
You will get an AIP within about a week (Should you be accepted)
We just have to provide proof of deposit now and then we will be given the full mortgage offer and be able to instruct them to carry out a valuation of the property.0 -
my broker applied for me on the monday and i got the mortgage offer in on the friday
as im in scotland they already had a copy of the survey from the home report so this prob sped things up a bit0 -
I am in the smae position and wondered if the OP has had anything back as of yet.
On a similar theme my application went via a mortgage broker would it be appropriate for me to chase up the application myself to see if things can be moved along or should I just relax and let things naturally unfold?0 -

If you are using a broker, he/she should be able to get an agreement in principle almost immediately. You will not however get your mortgage offer until the lender has received a satisfactory valuation report.
Nationwide are among the quicker lenders at present. My last case (about a month ago) went through in 10 days from AIP to Offer Letter, although they are currently in the process of shutting some of their mortgage processing centres.

just an update - so on 16/06/10 we were asked by our broker to provide various bits and pieces of evidecnce, as requested by the lender, including proof of deposit and student loans (they asked for lots of stuff - i hope that doesn't mean there's a problem?). got these in the mail by 18/06/10 so they should be there now. hopefully we will hear something more this week . . . fingers crossed...
thanks for all the replies0 -
