Summer coat - fashion advice please

Hi all,
Advice please, I'd like some fashion advice please.
For some reason I have several winter coats and the only summer one I have is a denim jacket (not smart enough for work)
I'd like one that's light but waterproof (but no hood), and one that I can wear with lots of things - smart for work, but also look okay with jeans
....not too expensive either £40-£50 max.
I rarely go clothes shopping so I've no idea where to start looking
I'm going to the city centre tomorrow, so high street suggestions would be best
Any suggestions?
many thanks in advance

I'd go to ASOS, I don't know what the rest of your wardobe is like or if you have specific figure issues (eg pear shape, big busted, petite...) but ASOS seem to have everything!
I'm living in last years Primark Boyfriend Blazer- they have some more out for this year, slightly different, the sleeve lining has a pattern this year. Its £13 if I remember correctly (last year it was £12, thats VAT for you!) mine seems to wash well and works well as a summer jacket- but if your wearing longer sleeves then its better to wear tight sleeves underneath, the blazers are all 3/4 legnth.
Macs are always in every year, Adidas have some nice ones in as do Sweaty Betty but they do have hoods and are lose fitting.
Asos as I say, have loads of stuff and is also worth a look.0 -
I got myself a lightweight mac from BHS. Think it was £40-£45. Short in style and you can get in lots of summery colours or the typical beige. Does me fine for work and when I have casual trousers on. Think M&S had something similar. Good luck.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0

I was in M&S the other day and they had lots of mac's in loads of different colours. A few different styles too.0

Primark have some really nice 3/4 trench coats for £21.0

I got a Hobbs 3/4 red trench coat reduced from £300 to £70 in Debenhams sale.0

I got a black jacket from New Look for £25, it has 3/4 sleeves but you can roll them down but it does have a hood. I really wanted a jacket with a hood for the summer as it usually rains where I live and when my hair gets wet it looks like rat tails lol. New Look is the only place where I could find my ideal jacket but primark and topshop had nice jackets as well. Let us know how you get on.0
