After a disasterous holiday in the Lake District with the car totally crapping itself not once but twice (£650 later gulp) I really need to get some sort of roadside rescue - wondering if MSE'ers have any tips on how / where to get the best price, TIA.

I have this at £59 including European cover, run by the largest breakdown service in Europe .

Have a read of the Breakdown cover article for roadside recovery and then maybe try searching the Cashback-Sites Maximiser for best cashback offers.
Make sure you check everything you need is covered from the cheapest results you find.
Good luck!0 -
hi, if you have spare tesco deal vouchers you could always use these? I know this is not the cheapest way (as teh RAC price is not cheap this way)..but if you have spare vouchers its easier than handing hard cash over0

I purchased mine through quidco as they were giving very good cashback at the time. Not sure what the deal is now though.0

Definitely via a cashback site - also the more extras you add (homestart , relay etc) the more it costs so only take what you think you may need to use (you can always push the car down the road so it's not outside your house lol!)
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
I get FULL aa cover for £50 for my 11 year VW polo thru a local insurance company who buy in bulk, been doing this for years!!No one said it was gonna be easy!0
