I sent something back to Amazon for a refund, and got two emails. The first said they're crediting my card, and the next just two minutes later was for an electronic credit note. Does anyone have experience of how the system works? Am I getting a refund, and if not, how do you use electronic credit notes?

I've had these emails before and have always had the money put back on the card I paid with. Hope that helps.0

i have found Amazon to be amazingly fast with refunds although, I agree, the credit note thingy is a tad confusing.
If you check your card you will probably find the funds have already been repaid.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -
If its a credit note which has been sent to you rather then a refund, it should come with a code. You then log onto your Amazon account and add it as a voucher to your account, then use it as you would cash- buy anything and use the credit in your account to pay for it.
If however its an email reciept, it will be added to your account within a few working days and the email was to confirm that had happened.
As I understand a credit note to your Amazon account and a refund to your bank account are not the exact same thing, but I could be wrong.0
