I need Bikini help!

Hi,

I'm going on holiday to Turkey in a couple of weeks and I'm now at that annual point of dread when it comes to beachwear.

I'm size 12/14 and 30 years old so should be stripping off into a teeny bikini but I can't as I have terrible strech marks on my stomach (all DS fault!).

I know I can wear a normal swimming costume but don't really want to as my top half is okay.

Tankini's are no good as the little bit of flesh that does show is in the worst place so I was trying to find some high waist bikini bottoms but not having any luck.

Everytime I go on holiday everyone else, young and old seems to get away with wearing a bikini except me and it just depresses me. I've even been spraying my stomach with fake tan to see if that would help and it really doesn't.

Anyone have any idea on anything that would suit me, with links if possible?

You are still young and the only problem you have is your stomach. Find a bikini that draws the eye from the stomach, perhaps one that accentuates your bust as that is your best part, and forget about what you think you look like - there will be far worse people than you on the beach!!

If you are really desperate to cover your stomach, it should only need to be covered when you are standing up if it is anything like mine, so perhaps take a shift or similar with you to wrap around your waist and cover your stomach when you are standing up, if you are heading to the water who cares!!

Honestly though, the advice this year is to let it all hang out and look at the others that look worse - I have seen someone that must have been a size 20+ in a bikini before now, she was relaxed and enjoying herself, obviously un-self-conscious. And, because she felt alright, she actually looked alright!

Im sure the person who notices them the most is you. I wish stretchmarks were the only reason I couldn't wear a bikini lol

I did have links but as a new user I can't post them. However Urban Outfitters have a decent selection. Just go on the website and look at swimwear. The same goes for ASOS.

Believe me if all you've got to worry about is a few stretch marks you'll look fine in a bikini !!!

How about one with a roll down waist band ? (debenhams do them) you could have the "Simon cowl" version for walking about in,but roll it down when laying on the sun lounger.

When you've got a bit of a tan your stretch marks will be alot less noticeable anyway,but TBH nobody really cares or takes much notice anyway - there are very few perfect bodies lying round the average pool !!!

Another good tip is to pick a sun bed next to somebody older and fatter than you are & you'll look like Elle McPherson in comparison.

Of course you could just wear your stretch marks with pride and remember what a wonderful thing your Body did in producing your DS !!!
