Wedding Guest need a Bride's perspective

Have been invited to an August wedding so, as literally as I have nothing suitable, I need a new frock.

Trouble is I don't want to spend too much money on a dress and have seen a dress which I 'think' is suitable so what's my problem.

Well given the invitation, I think it is in line with the bride's colour scheme - so from a bride's perspective, if someone turned up in the same colour as your bridesmaids would you be miffed?

If it looks like a bridesmaids dress, especially like the actual bridesmaid dresses, then it could be a bit odd. But if it was, say a summery dress with peach flowers on it, and the bridesmaids were in peach, it wouldn't matter at all. I know that's a bit of a random example, it's all I could think of off the top of my head.

Assuming you know either the bride or groom pretty well if you've been invited to the wedding, if you are worried, email a picture over to them and just ask. Better than risking a scene on the day if the bride is a bit ... over-wrought!

I think you will be fine. From what I have heard from other brides you will not notice. Just dress to the correct degree of formality and have a great time!

I don't think I would mind as long as no one turns up in white :D

One of my friends did ask if she could wear a white dress! I am pretty easy going but I did have to say no to that.
