Hi all
Starting a new job soon in a school and have been given the opportunity to stay on at my current job @ the job centre for an extra 2 months on the days i am not working at the new one. After this I will only have the one job in the school. I was waiting for my new contract to come through before i decided whether or not i need to tell the school & it states they need to know all other employment, which i will tell them but want a heads up before i even bother mentioning it... It won't affect the new role as it'll only be for 4 weeks during the summer holidays.. is this a conflict in interest or.....?

I can't see that it would be a problem, especially if it's a short-term thing.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Actually it will initially mess with your tax. You need to work out which of the two jobs pays you more, and complete a P46 for the new job. If that's the one which pays more, you could phone the tax office and explain the situation, might mean you don't pay full whack on both jobs. Once you've only got one job, give the P45 from the old job to the new job, and if there's a delay with that fill in a new P46 saying this is now your only job but you've had others since April.
You will eventually get straight with the tax man, but it may take a while!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Certainly not a "conflict of interest" in terms of conduct in public life if that is the question.0
