LG 42LF7700 42" Full HD Freesat 100Hz

saw this on HDUK and took a chance at argos....... what a result !

I got the LG 42LF7700 Full HD Freesat HD LCD TV for £499!!!!

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/697839/lg-42lf2500-42-inch-full-hd-digital

The article number was for a 42LF2500 £499 but they brought out a LF7700 which is a fantastic TV! Others have done the same on HDUK but worth checking your local Argos!

Good spot. I have reserved one on line for other half to pick up, but was wondering what size approximately was the box and how heavy (as he is not sure if it will fit in the car - as he has a saloon it will have to go between the seats). Will post back later what we receive.

Other half picked up a 42LF7700, but was asked which model it was because they were all different models with the same product code in the storeroom - I had only given him the 7700 and said if different not to bother. So do not know what the other options may have been.

It had to be unboxed to fit in the car, and was then a tight fit. Next shopping to look for deals on the freesat dish & installation.

just to clarify, I paid for LG 2500 @£499 with article number for that ...and they brought out a 42 LF7700 which is a far superior TV (in my opinion!)

If you buy a LF7700 at argos with it's own product code it is £1099.99!

But only £599.95 in Richer Sounds. Me thinks Argos has overpriced this one a bit. Nowhere else seem to sell it at anywhere near that price.

It may be a good deal, but not as good as it first seemed.

Hi, yes of course you are right....Argos has WAY overpriced the LF7700 ....and yes as you rightly said it is available at Richersounds for £599 plus postage if you dont live near a store.

I was just trying to explain (not very well!) that the article number is for the LF2500 and that if you use the article number for the 7700 then the ridiculous price of £1099 comes up!

    cheers

Has anyone managed to get one of these today? I reserved online and went to my local Argos to be told that they were still unloading the lorry and to return ion a few hours. So, I assume that I am probably out of luck?

The LG 42LF7700 is for sale at £599 from Richer sounds http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/lg/42lf7700/lg-42lf77starstar, thats a long way off the £1,000+ Argos price. I think they've pulled a fast one by letting bargin hunters think they're getting £500 off when it's more like £100 and getting you to buy i TV you wouldn't have gone for if you had known it was a only a £100 saving.

Was being sold by Argos too for £599 back in Jan and being priced match by John Lewis plus 5yrs warrenty according to this thread on HUKD http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/575339/lg-42lf7700-42in-100hz-full-hd-free
