Change of circs - how long?

Does anyone know how long roughly it takes for the CSA to do a new calculation for a change of circumstances?

My partner is moving in with me and my children so his CSA payments should go down. Just wondered how long they take to action this.

You will find this varies very widely. Make sure you submit all the requested/required documentation and information as quick as possible.
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

Be advised that the CSA will take any child tax credit for your children into account too for assessment so i would try and work it out roughly. It will be 15%. Its funny with the CSA if you need a reduction due to income ect it takes weeks and weeks to complete. When our payments went up due to increase in ctc it took them 6 days to sort out. keep up with regular payments until they have done it. Good luck.

Presumably his case is under old rules?

    Part of the Furniture
    It is under CSA2.

Also I thought that child tax credits would not be taken into account.

As I have 2 children I assumed that they will base the new calculations based on his pay after they have deducted 20% off his salary figure.

Sorry but if he is the main earner on the tax credit claim they can use your ctc as his income. We just had a change of circs because my little boy has got a serious health problem and our ctc increased and they took the disability element into account too. It would depend on how much ctc you get really. You need to work it out then you will know roughly how much your OH will have to pay. This is really unfair because ctc is meant for your children not someone else's who is probably already getting their share. Get used to it tho NRP family tends to come at the very bottom of the pile when it comes to the CSA.
