Whoever was lucky enough to get this offer from OP - be careful... I am sure I read on the original thread that the person booking would need to actually stay and that ID was needed.
Just would not like anyone to arrive in London and find there was a problem!0 -
So has anyone stayed at the hoxton with the £1 deal yet? I'm due to stay in mid-sept. any feedback??? 0 -
Just back from London. For those of you who were lucky enough to secure a £1 room, you will not be disappointed. However, if you were paying £99 a room I think you might be!!!
The hotel is situated in a fairly rundown street which has constant traffic from about 4am. It is about 5 minutes walk from the tube station.
We were allocated an ajoining double room and twin room. Both rooms were generously sized, with quite large bathrooms and fairly funky decor. As promised you receive free water, fresh milk and quality coffee and tea. Each room has it's own hairdrier and safe.
If you have young children, who are able to read but are not wordly wise I'd advise removing the door notice signs which state "****off I'm Busy" - my 8 year old wanted to know what the missing word was - suggested to her it was clear off, but she then decided it was too many letters and was trying to guess what the word was!!!:rotfl:
The free breakfast was fine for me, but my little boy hated it. You might want to consider grabbing a cooked breakfast from the hotel (I think it was about £8.99) - alternatively, there is a cafe down the road.
The Hoxton Grille prices seemed quite reasonable and items available from reception were OK price wise (although there is a cost cutters directly opposite the hotel).
As with all new ventures, there were a couple of teething problems, but nothing too drastic. When we checked in the key machine had gone wrong, so the Receptionist took us to our rooms and let us in with her card. However, this meant we had no power supply until the card problem was resolved.
We also had an attempted room service delivery that we had not ordered and an alarm call that we had not requested (although in fairness it could've been another guest who didn't know their room number).
I would definately stay again if they were running an offer, but would not pay almost £200 a night for the four of us.
Hope you all enjoy your stay - especially as it would appear that it is free (no money collected from the credit card yet
