Need deposit, but catch 22!

:jHello there, havent been on here for a while now but have a question if anyone can help would greatly appreciate it!
Right here goes, need a deposit for a property that we have found, and need to get a mortgage before hubby comes out of HM Forces next year, but cant get the graturity lump sum (that we rely on for deposit) until he has left! Have still got problem with Credit History as over 6 years ago took out a Scottish Trust Deed, but even though it is all paid off, it still shows as some of them defaulted on the history! So where do we go from here! We do not have any family that we can borrow the deposit from, so even though we have found a lovely property at a great price with no chain we can move on it! Is there any way round this at all?
Would love to hear from anyone who has been in similar situation or could advice me.
Thanks folks:(

You'll need to wait until you have the deposit until you can buy. Why not rent until then, and sort out your credit file while you're renting? I'm sure there will be another great property when you have your deposit.

Thanks for that, we had thought about offering to rent the property we are interested in actually! It has been on the market since last October 2009 so think it is the location that may be putting prospective buyers off....at least thats what we are hoping. My hubby goes to Afghanistan for 5 months and if the property is still there for sale then we are going to see if they are interested in renting with intent to buy once he is out of HM Forces. That way they know they are gonna sell it AND we know we wont lose it! We can only try, cant we?
