Hi, wondering if anyone has any advice.
I need a tooth extraction (x2) and would be seen by an nhs dentist, im just wondering if anyone has any idea of what prices i could expect. Im on nat. min. wage (£4.80ish) and work 20 hrs a week (i work within the nhs). Would i get a lower charge as i dont earn much? Any advice would be helpful - thanks x

I think you'll need to move this thread to another board, this is the employment/jobseeking/training board. I don't think you'll get the dental treatment cheaper by the way, don't think it makes any difference what you earn.0 -
You could fill in an HC1 which assesses you for all nhs charges and gives you a maximum that you have to pay. If the treatment is less, then you pay the smaller amount so (apart from your time) you can't loseHi, wondering if anyone has any advice.

Are you actually employed by an NHS Trust? No one gets paid that little within the NHS.Gone ... or have I?0 -
If you're in England, the cost of this would be the band 2 charge of £45.60. (Flat fee)
In Wales it's slightly less .
In Scotland or N.I. it's a charge per extraction, and I don't know what that is, but it's not much.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Bear in mind that you state you need two extractions, but that a dentist may disagree. The treatment will be based on a clinical opinion & you could be told you need 0-5 extractions

If you claim working tax credits you should be eligible for free dentistry and prescriptions etc. HMRC will inform NHS if this is the case and NHS will send you a exemption card.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
