Credit Cards & Drugs

I have been reading here before bed and I can only conclude that credit cards...or rather the amount authorized and the behavior of some companies is evil. Not a word to use lightly too. If credit cards were drugs, the knock on social effect they have when used wrongly would make them in class A classified and they would immediately be banned. Drug Barons are greedy, banks are greedy. Drugs are addictive and so too it could be argued are credit cards, dealers offer a bit more drug on each visit and time to pay if need be but serious threats if payment isn't made, credit card companies offer a bit more by way of credit increases and make threats over non-payment disproportionate a lot of the time too. Drugs contribute to physical and mental illness and death, credit cards do too. I don't want to see a nanny state but I do want to see much tighter control of the issue of credit. If I was lending money out I would want to keep a tight reign on how much was lent in order to ensure I got it back. These credit card companies are run by people who don't give a damn. The FSA acts in some respects like a dinasoar without any teeth.
