Boots mobile top ups - confused

Hi,
sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere before (searched but couldn't find anything)
I have read on the site about buying mobile phone top ups from boots will result in 4 points per pound, or in other words a 4% discount, but upon checking boots website I read the following....
"*4 We're sorry but points cannot be spent in Boots Opticians or on www.boots.com. In stores points can't be spent or collected on prescription items, stamps, gift vouchers/cards, infant milks (up to 6 months), mobile phone top-up cards, insurance products and Boots Hearingcare"
Have they recently changed this? or is there some loophole I am missing?
TIA

You do get points for topping up your mobile, you just can't BUY a top up WITH your points.0

I know this will sound stupid but how do you do an instore top up? do you just go in and ask for X amount on your provider? What do the give you?
I havent been on payg for ages lol ive forgotten how it works! ive been doing it by my debit card and ringing them up...but boots points would be better appreciated!:jThe Money Saving Wannabe :j

just give in your boots advantage card and your mobile provider PAYG card and ask for however much you want. you get even more points when you use the double points vouchers they send thru the postMum, wife and dinnerlady!0

They no longer accept the double/triple points vouchers anymore for top-ups, but you can still get the usual 4pts per £ - my local Boots Manager said they were trialling the change for six months to see how it goes. You can't use your points to buy a top-up either.0

I always buy my top up inBoots just to boost my AP. the last I done it was 6th June and got AP points,no problem. HTHAssalamu alaikum. May Allahs blessings be upon you0

I've bought top ups with points but not recently. I hope they haven't changed the system as I was wanting to top up with my points soon.Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20
