Stained teeth from taking spatone

Options
Hi

Anyone have any suggestions of suitable toothpaste/mouthwash/anything to combat slight blackening of teeth from supplementing on Spatone (iron supp)?

Thanks :)

Iron supplements are notorious for staining teeth. Rinse with water directly after using then brush.
Using any supermarket own brand stain removal toothpaste will help but beware they work by rubbing stain away ,they can also rub tooth away. Only use whilst you are on supplement and not every day.

Once you finish supplement a scale and polish at the dentist will get rid of rest of staining(it can be very stubborn)

I take spatone everyday in a drop of fresh orange, never had a staining problem. Are you taking it neat Andy?
There is a "professional" polish as supposedly used by dentists, made by Colgate.

I Googled your problem which appears to be common, but apart from brushing with baking soda which I dont find effective, it wasn't helpful.
I shall go and find out the name of the Colgate polish. Ha! it's called "once a week professional polish", would you believe?

If you want really white teeth, I can highly reccommend Crest Whitestrips Supreme, I purchase from the internet. used to be from USA, but many UK sites now have them. There's none of the palavar of having trays in the mouth.

Thanks Mutter - I have it in a cup of water. The staining isn't horrific but it's fairly apparent, like a grey sheen to it. Plus one of the front teeth has a mark on it

You know that taking it in orange carries it better to where it's needed, vit c + iron. Also nothing with tannin to be taken within an hour each side of the iron or it destroys its worth. there are foods too that should be avoided. I'm sure you know all this already but more to read on the spatone website if you don't.

Do you have a recommendation for a UK site that sells Crest Whitestripes?
Thank you for this site Martin

Do you have to keep using these strips (you seem to be a regular buyer)

Thanks, do you have a link? I'm wary of ebay anyway and with something like this would really like to buy from a recommended seller.

How strange me and my OH take spatone every day and have had no problems ever.
We just dilute it in a bit of fruit juice and it's been fine.
