will we get mortgage??

I have been asking my mortgage advisor fo 9 months if I can move my halifax mortgage from my current house to the new house i want to buy, he promised me we could and said there was no problems with doing it. However after 9 months of working bloody hard to get the house sold, he said yesterday that it cant be done, we will need to fully reapply.
I am concerened that I wont get the new mortgage,
I am looking for £179000 for a property costing £239000, I have a deposit of £60000.
I have never missed or been late on a mortgage payment in life.
I have missed payments on my credit card, and I have now cleared this card, but am concerned about it.
My earnings are £47000 a year before tax.
I have payslips and bank statements, P60s, but I work for my fathers family business and am concerned that that will cause problems too.
Cant sleep and cant stop crying over this bloody mess, please help if you can julia
