Ccj query

Hi everyone

I have just viewed my husbands credit file and he has two ccjs on there from 5 years ago but we don't know what they are for! It says the value the court name and case number and that's all. We think they might have been for old water bills as they are only small amounts but we have paid them. How can I find out who issued them ??

Thanks in advance :-)

1 year and they will be gone, you may have to apply to the courts for information on what the filing was for.

Thanks for the reply, I know they will be gone in a year but I would like to find out if I have defo paid them. I don't want someone coming along saying I've not paid and start harrassing for money. can they still chase you after 6 years if it was a ccj?

How would I apply to the courts for the info?

    Many thanks

A CCJ does not become statute barred, so the debt will still remain after 6 years. They would need to request permission from the court to enforce it though as they have not done so since the CCJ was initially awarded.

To get the info, you could go through the registry trust. Not sure if it'll give you all the details you want though.
If we do find a result, you'll see the following information. There are 5 main headings:

Court name - where the case was heard

Case number - vital if you need to contact the court

Date - when the judgment was made

Amount - how much the judgment was for

Status - satisfied means we've been notified that it's been paid. Unsatisfied means we haven't.

Or you could just phone up the court and tell them what you're looking for.
