in Cutting tax
If anyone was is denial about the ongoing meltdown of HMRC, last night's Watchdog spelt it out very well - and the HMRC's spokesperson showed just how in denial they are.
The watchdog website is also enlightening with over 110 comments within the first hour, most of those being horror stories of poor service from the HMRC.

Now ISN'T a good time for the new government to make too many changes to the tax system or it may just tip it over completely into full meltdown. HMRC has had 13 years of Gordon's meddling, U-Turns, etc., and needs time to bed down.

Well over 150 [STRIKE]complaints[/STRIKE] responses by midnight. The moderators are having trouble keeping up.
(Some responses, very very few, praise the system, notably the on-line system; that in itself is a bit worrying as I'm sure there will be those who have worked out how to use the on-line system to claim a rebate or up their family/child tax credits ?)
The woman with a Scottish (?) accent inflamed some posters - seems they like to be thought as Tax Payers and the tax persons to be know a Civil Servants - what a funny old fashioned notion;)0
