Please can someone advise me

I am soon to be seperated from my oh and am in the middle of doing a soa to put on here.

I have an irregular wage which is a problem, and I'm not sure whether to try and maintain my credit card repayments, or to try and arrange a payment plan (is that what it's called) beforehand in case I can't keep up.

I was wondering if I could try and sort out a lower payment and then overpay when I can.
Is that possible..
I am disciplined enough to do that!

Hopefully the CC companies will be a bit more understanding when you speak to them before you get into arrears and explain the situation you are in.
We found that even Morgan Stanley and Egg (who a lot of people had bother with) were OK when we first spoke to them. They were a bit confused at first as we didn't actually owe any arrears at the time and hadn't missed any payments.
You will still get the dreaded calls but the advisors told us they couldn't stop those until a plan was drawn up.
As for your irregular wage. I know our situation is different as we have 2 wages coming in but....as my OH's wage varies such a lot, we are only relying on the minimum amount he can expect when drawing up our budget and then saving the rest for unexpected hiccups.
    Good luck.

Why not put the money into a building society the month before and pay just above the minimum out of that, then the overpayments and underpayments should get smoothed out.
