Tax and National Insurance

Options
Does anyone know what the current rate is for the charge of
tax?
NI?

per week on a weekly wage?

My husband got stopped £100 per week for the first month when he first started this job he was earning £400pw and was left with £300pw, this seems a lot of NI and Tax to stop to me. We are wondering what he will get stopped on his 2nd monthly salary next time he gets paid.

Alas my question above.

It sounds as if he is on code BR. Did he hand a P45 in to his employer, if not did he sign a P46 to say this is his only job? if not, he needs to do this so that his employer can put him on the basic personal allowance code and refund the tax overpaid.
The tax exemption is £125pw, after which he pays 20% tax. The weekly NI exemption is £110, after which he pays 11%. NI will always be correct as it is calculted on a weekly basis.
