oh how i wish people would talk in code when they say 'trash the dress' as it makes me want to do this:eek:
i can understand why peops do it i just couldnt myself, itd feel like i was throwing cash in the rubbish bin

if your to do it can you go somewhere thats got a beach near a wooded area then do both
    whats south cerney water park?
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p
  • I think it's sad when pretty dresses get destroyed like that:( If it was me I'd keep the dress as a memory of a special day and to see if I still fit into it years later:D

You could sell it if you don't want to keep it?

Your choice of course and enjoy it if you do go for it :)
  • Sorry lol maybe cherish the dress or rock the frock would sound better.... South cerney is like a series of man made lakes for water sports and so on, there's a nice man made beach there as well which would look fab... The forest of dean does have some ponds actually so that might be the way to go hmm
I get the whole throwing money away thing, but to be honest it would be doing that sat in a box anyway.

  • Oh also I'm not talking bout literally trashing my wedding dress, I'm not going to swim in itor anything crazy just have some shots done that I wouldn't get on my wedding day and maybe that are a little different. I think the idea is to have photos done where you wouldn't normally see a wedding dress such as maybe in an industrial park, or kicking water at her husband, or on a farm so on....

I'd never heard of it before, and when I read your first post I thought you were going to do something like burn it on a ceremonial bonfire or something lol

I've since Googled it and seen some lovely pictures, and think it's a great idea. I'll be interested to hear what you go with!

    Good luck. :)
  • Why do you trash your dress? Surely it donesn't mean that the dress occupy too much space or others. I think the dress should be valued and well preserved. A prettey wedding dress witness your love and you can rewear it to review that sweet moment. And it is also a tool to clam down the quarrel. So don't do that.
  • I am a photographer and these photoshoots are VERY popular. Ex-Brides love the idea of wearing their dress again without the stress of the wedding day. Usually we pick a spot that is very different to their wedding venue.....urban location, beach, woodland and we really treat the ex-Bride like a model for the day..possibly hair and make up professionally done, maybe a funky headpiece or funky jewellry and then have lots of fun!! I have yet to trash a dress...the worst that's happened is the dress got a little grubby on the bottom...similar to what happens on a wedding day anyway!

Increasingly the shoots are being bought as a present from their hubbys....I mean, who wouldn't want the chance to wear the special dress once again!!

It all works out good in the end.
If it's not good, it's not the end!

    MrsHeath2B - I'm in Gloucester too...!
There are lots of places that you could do a TTD shoot.....the Forest would be one (consider the sculture trail??)
Cotswold Water Park is nice - but not sure it would make a great shoot.
    How about the Cathedral too?
Or Llanthony Priory? (Me & OH had some photos taken there last year, and they are lush!)
Who is your photographer? Why not have a mix of photos? You could even do a tour of Gloucestershire!

Consider Tewkesbury/Bredon too - bit further out, but still lovely.
Also if you want Countryside type photos, what about Crickley Hill?
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

  • ooh dizzie I didn't think of the cathedral!!! Our photographer is tailored for you, it's a husband and wife team from Cheltenham I think they've they're relatively new. The guy works with my H2b so we got mates rates!! I wonder if they would actually allow photos inside the cathedral.. I love the countryside idea to I'll have to get some funky wellies to wear with my dress
