Woohoo carboot

Ok, so against the background of massive debts the money made at two car boots today isnt huge.. or even measurable but £43.81 is ours tonight rather than someone else's. We have taken the £2s, 50ps and 20ps out to start saving them regularly :j Feel good about spending a day making something from nothing rather than just spending a day spending :T
"Many a mickle maks a muckle"... but just how many mickles do you need ? dont suppose a piece of string and a ha'penny will do this time:rotfl:

  • Well done you, I keep meaning to do a car boot, but then a charity bag comes round and I put the stuff in there instead.

If you could do a car boot say once a month the money you make would soon add up.

Well done, if I had a babysitter on a weekend I would do car boot myself. End up just giving everything away or throwing it out.
One day I might be more organised...........

That's a great amount for a few hours 'work'. It feels great to make money out of something that would normally get thrown away or sent to charity shops! Well done, you did great :T :T :T

My mum did a car boot sale today from 9 - 3 and made £28.00 but after taking off fee for doing it she only made £16.00 which is still money she wouldn't have had

She's just kicking herself that she turned down a shift at work today thinking she'd get more at the car boot sale :o

never mind think she's learnt her lesson this time - always take the extra shift :rotfl:

    Lil me,

I know it isn't ideal but if you can find a carboot that isn't a ridiculously early start take your little one along. We did it once with our then 9 month old and pitched him up in his travel cot to play and in car seat to sleep. He loved all the attention he got form people constantly asking if he was for sale (must admit i was tempted!!). Take a picnic, warm clothes and just pray it doesn't rain.

Thanks for all the supportive comments. It was a lot easier than I thought, but them my darling OH did all of the boxing up before the day. We found that you could have a good day at no cost (apart from £5 at each of the two for the pitch). We took one of our dogs with us to help draw people in (he was dressed as superdog, which is is anyway) so that made us and a lot of people smile. :rotfl: :D
