Hi
I am no expert but I have just declared myself bankrupt in July. It costs £475.00. I have debts of £30,000. I declared myself bankrupt because I couldn't cope with the repayments of my credit cards,Loans etc, also once you have declared bankruptcy the bailiffs can't come into your house and take any goods unless specifically told by the Official Receiver. I lost my car because it was worth more than £1,500. I have to pay through the official receiver £180.00 a month to my creditors and also your tax code will go down to zero which also goes to your creditors. I will be disharged after a year or sooner if the official receiver wants to but for 3 years I have to pay my creditors £180.00, when I am discharged I still have to pay for 3 years but I don't have to tell the official receiver any change of circumstances.
Print of the forms for bankruptcy you will probably find them on this site or if not go to the site https://www.insolvency.gov.uk and they will be there. What ever you do tell the truth. I think your horse will be safe.
Hope this has helped and good luck.
