Quick question - moving a mortgage?

Hi,

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question:o, but are there mortgages that can be moved with you if you move home? Rather than having to apply for a new mortgage and go through the whole set up again?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi
The vast majority of mortgages are portable - however bear in mind this is never guaranteed and are treated as new applications (i.e. you'll need to meet the current criteria)

    Thanks Andy!

And hmm... so if my income's dropped while I'm on maternity pay would they count my 'normal' salary or my maternity salary? I knew it wasn't going to be as simple as pick up the mortgage and move it with me. :p
