Is it too late?

Hi all, just wanted your advice on something.

I'm a FTB and had an appointment with Woolwich today. Ended up signing up to their 5 year fixed mortgage at 4.44%.

I then went home and realised that Britannia are offering a better deal at 3.99% which basically means i save £1500 over the 5 years PLUS the valuation fees are almost half of what i'm paying with Woolwich.

I left barclays at around 4 pm and i'm aware the mortgage advisor was seeing someone straight after me so it's unlikley she would have posted my application off today and was probably hoping to do it tmrw. She did however spend a couple of hours with me going through my details. Does this count as her having officially accepted my mortgage and will i therefore lose my £150 deposit for cancelling the application?

Thanks :)
