Hi, I have a canon i550 that has been great for the last year or so.
Last week it printer fine, this week it has decided not to bother printing in colour at all.
It has 4 cartridges, black and three colours. All are full. I've tried cleaning heads, nozzles etc. It makes no difference.
I don't get any error warning and it pretends to print but comes out clear.
Is it time to get rid or is it a problem that sounds fixable?
If it's dead, odes anyone know any bargains out there at the mo. I could kick myself for not buying the M&S canon one but heindsight etc etc!
Thanks

Mine has started doing exactly the same. I've been using compatibles , what about you?0

Yup, afraid so. But that's the chance you take I guess. It has worked fine with them for an awfully lot of prints.
Is yours only printing monochrome or a different variation on the same theme?0 -
It's not printing monochrome. I found that the maintenance function "cleaning" worked better than "deep cleaning" but only for a short time.0

We, too, have a Canon i550. Excellent little printer but NOT if you use compatibles, I'm afraid. We did try and save money with compatibles but had similar problems. Luckily it was just in guarantee so Canon fixed it at no charge (kind people). No more compatibles used here and, so far, no problems at all.

Agree, I've had a HP all in one printer/scanner/copier for several years now and always bought HP original cartridges. Although they cost megabucks when other printers are falling by the wayside, my HP prints perfectly.
Touch wood!
These days would never buy compatibles.0 -
georgiac , you may find this useful

Basically , you remove the head and give it a thorough clean under a hot tap . Didn't work for me I'm afraid but you may have some success. Good luck.0
