Ironic really, they are going to require more when the cuts nd the double dip kicks in.
The Metropolitan Police has informed would-be officers who passed its recruitment stages successfully that their applications have been rescinded.
He said the situation was "soul-destroying" and he partly blamed the government.
He said: "I'm really annoyed with them because I voted Tory as they backed the police, while the Lib Dems said they were going to recruit more police officers."

No public service is safe, no matter what anyone thinks. But there are ways to cut spending without startinmg with cutting officer numbers, but the Met aren't used to having to economise, they have had it easy financially compared to other smaller forces, so it will be a shock for them.

Far easier to blame the government than to look at themselves and their incompetent recruitment policies."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

I'm guessing that they aren't cutting the numbers of actual real police, they are just not hiring the extra officers Labour announced prior to the election.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
