Can't print Ashampoo documents

A colleague and I are doing the same NVQ at work, as we work on the same jobs we’re allowed to share documents and images etc.
I’ve done mine on word documents; he has downloaded a free 30 day trial from Ashampoo to do his.
The work computers don’t recognise his documents so we can’t print them off., the IT dept said save them as .doc documents which we have done but a message box comes up with “can only do this during the first 7 days of the trial”

Any ideas?

At the end of the day he can print them at home, but it would be better done work time.

Thanks

You could always use the free Word reader from Microsoft.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3657CE88-7CFA-457A-9AEC-F4F827F20CAC&DisplayLang=en

    or Open Office

If you want to share stuff online then try Google docs

Easiest thing to do is go to a shop and buy a copy of Office for about £100.

Can you open his files? If so save them with word using MS Word 97-2003 .doc format. He could download the (nearly finished runs out in Oct, soon to be bought for Office 2010 beta, or Office 2007 trial 60 day ) and do the save as .doc format above.

Of course openoffice.org is free (forever as of now) and will save as word 97/2003 format too.

So you friend has created a document in Ashampoo Office, and wants to print it out on a computer that doesn't have Ashampoo Office installed, but the demo version of Ashampoo won't let you export the files to .doc format?

Can the demo version still print files? If so, you could use CutePDF to "print" the document into a PDF file. Your office computer will almost certainly be able to display and print the PDF file, but you won't be able to edit it. CutePDF is a free download from CutePDF.com.

If you can't print the files either, maybe you could download the Ashampoo demo onto your own computer, and then convert your friend's files into .doc format for him?
