They run a number of clearance sites - when they close down thats its for the next 6-9 months on that site.
Goods dont normaly move from one site to another they are sold into the trade.
In the spring they close down the winter clearance site and open the spring clearance etc....Pinkkipper0 -
If you register at their site they will credit check you! They also opened me a line of credit THAT I DIDN'T ASK FOR. If I had ordered anything I would have paid by debit card. I wanted this closed off my credit record so I found a number through "saynoto0870" to call on and spoke to the rudest man I have ever met on the other end of the phone.
He said if I didn't like the service I could "vote with my feet". ERRM WHAT DID HE THINK I WAS TRYING TO DO. When I asked PLEASE CLOSE THIS ACCOUNT - IT WASN'T WANTED, I WASN'T ASKED ABOUT OPENING IT AND I ONLY REGISTERED TO BE SENT SPECIAL OFFERS. (I didn't shout at him!) Still makes me mad though! The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
found this on their t/c
We will from time to time, dependent on your purchase patterns make searches about you at credit reference agencies who will supply us with credit information, as well as information from the Electoral Register. The agencies will record details of the search whether or not credit is granted. We may use credit-scoring methods to assess your application and to verify your identity. Credit searches and other information provided to us and/or the credit reference agencies, about you and those with whom you are linked financially may be used by Summer Clearance and other companies if credit decisions are made about you or other members of your household. This information may also be used for debt tracing and the prevention of money laundering as well as the management of your account.
@kiethscot1 -you are correct
@BargainhunterII - If you dont recieve your goods lost in post etc you will get your refund its not instant but you will get all your money back you also have 28days home aproval so you can return within the time you will get refund for items but not the p+p and returing is free via post office in uk or a courier if one is available in your area.
on electrical items within 12 months they dont repair but send you new ones out, if you buy items and you recieve a free good with that item you do need to return that item.
For some reason they automaticaly credit check you but if you ring the number for c/s they can speak to credit control and set up an account without that, but you still have an account and tbh nealry all such companys have an account I have account with ebuyer, diskexpress, qvc etc etc
One more thing, if you ever want to speak to a manger than you have to wait as c/s take your telephone no. and details and then you get a call back.
Like I always say be nice and treat the person as you would like to be treated and I am sure they will deal with any problems you have.
Tip, after you get an number (customer number) to call them and opt out of third party mailings etc as the t/c mention that.0 -
Are they still closing down? been doing that for a while now:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

its near xmas so just clearing warhouse for new stuff as by october the need to have catlogues sent out to customers, the comanies been operating since 1859 so wont close just now they are selling stuff just like most shops do, some items are not bad, last time they had a microwave for 16.00 I missed out on that
tip: after placing an order day later phone or email to check status as they might not inform you that its no longer available. 0 -
I have bought stuff from companies like Ebuyer and don't have a credit account and they didn't set one up without asking me.but you still have an account and tbh nealry all such companys have an account I have account with ebuyer, diskexpress, qvc etc etc
If you regularly take out new credit cards, or borrow from people be warned buying from sites which credit reference you will affect your credit rating. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
I meant an account not credit account, good thing you reminded me the credit check thing is very strong so better to phone ask for cash acount only and opt out of third party mailings, I know you will never read t/c but atleast have a quick galance the companys is not bad even if you use the credit thing just pay the full balance not the minimum as you will be charged interest and it does mention that, oh also pay on time and you are lauging but to be extra safe just pay by card in first place,
like i did say before they automaticaly do a search on you unless you call them and request a cash account which bit mad0 -
