oooo....a shiny new thread. Well done .!!

I have just watched "Escape to the Country ", and had beans on toast for tea, but actually dozed off and missed the end, so I don't know which house they liked. That's the trouble when I sit down, I want to nod off.....must be an age thing.!!

    Hi Elsie,

I do things like that - if it is something I really need to see the end of (e.g. Dalziel and Pascoe!) I have to record it! I actually watched it as well!

They really liked the second house - which I think I preferred. Although I would have wanted more than one bathroom at that price!

Thought that the first one was a bit "higglede pigglede" but had a lovely garden. The last one was just simply gloomy - didn't like that at all.

Love the programme, though. Doesn't do any harm to fantasise!

I love that programme too. It good to see people fulfilling their dreams of an escape to the country. Plus it gives me ideas so i can dream of what i am going to do to my place after i have saved some money.

Here is how to reply from the old thread! Sorry, showing off!!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

To do it, simply go to the old thread and click the number in top right of the post (like this: #4618) That then opens a new window with the following, in the address field:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=33626637 & postcount=4618

You need to copy the numbers ive made bold above and do this in a new post on the new thread:

    [ quote=mouseann;33626637] Text Here [/ quote]

That is how to do it, obviously you remove the gaps between [/ q to make it work! so the above example reads like this:

    See, simples!!

    Thanks Niddy,

Sorry I did not take the hint and visit your thread/contact you earlier than I did! I honestly think that, until I actually left work, I was in total denial. And I have no idea how I would have coped - you will see that my original plan (which went pear shaped just under a year ago!) was to sell my house and move away with my partner when I retired. But it was the relationship which went pear-shaped! I realise now I should have done something then about trying to get some sort of arrangement sorted out. Don't think I would have been allowed to continue in my existing job, though - I had reached my "sell-by date". So, my age is against me!

And you are quite right about the advice not taking my age into consideration - I particularly liked the one about cancelling Sky - I don't even have Sky. I am not a great telly watcher and Freeview does me fine!

As to what I would have done, I suspect I would have had to sell the house and probably go bankrupt - unless the CC people would have accepted lower payments. Which is quite a joke, really!

And the only reason my confidence has grown is entirely down to you and the advice and support given.

    Now I'll shut up!

    Don't think it was you!

I honestly hadn't noticed that it gone well over the 4000 mark!

    I know now, though!
