No mortgage

Has anyone saved up and bought a house for cash? Just wondered if it could be done.

Difficult where I live as it is the most expensive in the UK but have been looking at buying elsewhere.

  • Did I dream it or did I read it somewhere that Martin paid cash for his place? He obviously practises what he preaches, he's a good advertisement for his own website.;)

We paid cash for our last house.

But it was a run down terrace that we did up and sold on as a stepping stone to getting a bigger house. Very hard work, but worth it. And the lack of mortgage payments freed up cash for the renovations each month.

That was about 7 years ago tho, I really doubt we could do so now. But that may have something to do with 3 kids now draining the resources!!
