Joint Ownership - Removal of

I have a mortgage that was originally taken out with an old partner in 1992.

To cut a long story short I took the advice of my local Citizen Advice Centre which was to pay him a small sum and get him to sign an agreement whereby he relinquished all ownership rights to the property.

However, I have been wondering how I can get his name removed from the land registration etc

Any advice guidance would be appreciated.

Since there is a mortgage that will complicate things since you will need their agreement.

Did you get the agreement draw up by a solicitor, if not it may be worth checking that it can be used to do the transfer once the mortgage comapny approve.

Many thanks for the quick response the agreement was not draw up by a solicitor I simply used the letter supplied by the CAB and had it witnessed by 3rd party. I am hoping that this will B sufficient for the lender's as I gather my ex is in some financial difficulty and so far, touch wood , my credit rating remain's intact as I paid off the the debt he ran up that my name was attached 2 since then nothing.
