Giving up IB to try working, can I get IB back if dont work out?

Just wandering out of interest if being on IB but wanting to see if I can work is it possable to get the IB back if a job does not work out?.

Guess I'm asking can a benefit be suspended while\if I try to see if I can work for a period?.

As there is a lot of care work going in our area and the money seems pretty good. But concerned there is no going back to IB if a possable try at employment does not work out?.

Btw anyone know if care work is more demanding than physical as it's more the physical side I'm concerned about not being able to do as much as in the past due to health?.

I believe you can do work whilst getting IB for a while and still get paid if you get permission and some rules apply

Thanks for that. It even gets better as a lot of jobs in caring in our area even offer to pay for the legal checks by the employer. Plus with on job training it seems I may have little to lose in trying that area out.

I'm not registered as a carer but from my experiences looking after elderly disabled people, it's can both mentally and physically draining especially if you get people that need things to be done constantly throughout the day. Don't think it's that bad physically but some examples including pushing and steering wheelchairs outside of the client's home and helping them into bed (not fun if they weigh four times as much as you do). Have you tried going on the Access to Work/Pathways to Work programme? Dunno how good that is but Jobcentre offices plaster that across their windows.

The physical side of caring don't bother me nearly as much as my past jobs I've had working for little more than minimum wage sweating myself tired for 8 hours a night. At least with something like caring I'd get something out of the job in helping those who need help rather than a non thinking auto pilot job. The mentally demanding side of it, well simply put I'd never know unless I'd try. But it is a very serious option I'm looking into right now.

From experiences of asking about the JC's schemes etc in the past I simply don't qualify due to being on IB so I'm told so in theory cant be seeking employment or training for employment as I'm told you cant do that on IB. In fact 1 person told me to apply for such a scheme I'd have to sign off IB and spend 6 months on JSA before I'd qualify for pretty much anything they offer the unemployed!.

It's frustrating me that being on IB and really wanting to get back to work after 3 years or trying training I'm simply knocked back due to the benefit I'm on. And the government are moaning about all the people on IB!. No wander when they wont support people like me wanting to get back into work from being on IB!.
