Where to go for Honeymoon

Hi I am looking for ideas of somewhere to go for our honeymoon. We want somwhere, where the flight will only take 2-3 hours maximum. I have never been abroad before so have no idea where to go. we want somewhere that will be peaceful, be hot and have a nice beach. No where that is too touristy or a resort that is geared up to children
Does anyone have any suggestions?
BTW we are going to be going late April
Thanks

Somewhere in the med sounds ideal for you timewise but you wont be guaranteed great weather in April im afraid. For that you'd need to go further afield with a 4 or 5 hour flight.

For a 2-3 hour flight look at places like Majorca or Menorca, the latter being the quieter more peaceful island.

If you want some better weather you could try egypt.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

Any of the Canary Islands will have lovely weather that time of year and the flight is approx 3.5 hours, worth it though to near enough guarantee the weather!

Hi bex4adz....... Glad someone else is struggling over they're honeymoon!! I've sat with a hundred brochures looking for ideas and still none the wiser!!

I thought I'd found the perfect place but after reading reviews I changed my mind.... they were ALL bad!!!

My H2B isn't keen on flying for long but quite fancies a "nice" plane to the Carribean!! We like the look of the Iberostar Costa Dorada in the Dominican......Was wondering where you all went and if you had any recommendations?! =)

I doubt you will be able to guarantee the weather being "hot" anywhere within 2-3hrs flight at that time of the year . You might try a little farther away, Africa is going to be warmer, Kenya or Gambia maybe?

Otherwise i'd just take a longer flight and go for the carribean or Dubai.

We're going to Turkey, but we're off in August.. I would also suggest canary islands as they have good weather all year round!

In april prices for all inclusive resorts should be quite reasonable though so thats a bonus!
Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think we might have to consider travelling for a bit longer to get better weather

The Gambia is amazing, I've just written a really long post saying how amazing and then managed to close the bloody net down!!!! We lazed on the beach and walked through a park that had monkeys following us around then took a river trip and went to another park that had free range crocs you could stroke! We stayed 2* and it was ok, there is a lot of begging and locals wanting to sell you trips but you do get that anywhere. The beaches were lovely and as it is still being developed it was so quiet and peaceful, we went January last year, mostly as there were no kids!!!!

http://www.directline-holidays.co.uk/Kololi details of the area we stayed in, I can't find the hotel we stayed in. It was ok but I think if we had the choice if we went back then I'd spend a bit more money

How about somewhere in this country straight after the wedding as a minimoon, then travellling a lil bit further affield a couple of months later? We're getting married in February and have really struggled too but we have booked into:

Then if funds allow we'd quite like to go island hopping in Greece June/July time.
