Can anyone give me some ideas for a birthday party for my daughter.
We promised her last year she could have a party this year so can't go back on it now.
She has seen some fairy princess/makeover parties which she really likes the look of but they cost £150:eek:
Unfortunately that is just not possible any ideas on how I can give her a great party without spending a fortune. I think she is looking for something a little more grown up than the usual kids party - all you parents know what I mean 8 going on 18!!!
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks

Could you not see what a Fairy/Princess/makeover parties entails and try and recreate that?
Buy some makeup sets and get a few adults to help do makeovers i.e. paint nails, blusher, lipstick and eyeshadow (not too much - afterall, their only 8!)
You could do gift bags that include some of them nail polish remover wipes so they can get the nail polish off!, some hair bands, etc
I don't have any children so will not be much help I suppose!
Also instead of a cake, why not let them decorate fairy buns or cookies to take home with them?
Have a look and be inspired from some idea's on here...

Why not make the birthday cake from lots of little fairy cakes, all decorated with pink and lilac icing and silver baubles - then each guest could take one away with them after the party. Use LOTS of fairy lights, you can get them very cheaply these days and they will help to look the place look magical.0

Try looking up Mystery Party on Ebay. There is a fairy one, but you might be able to adapt it or at least pinch some ideas. (I'd do a link but i don't know how.)I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

The makeover party sounds great!!!!!! My DD is going to be 8 this year and doesn't actually want a party - she wants to take 1 friend bowling - great for me!!!!!!!!
You could do the makeover and take pictures of the children to take home with them.......Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
