How to check if car brought has finance os

Hi guys,

Some of you will know my oh car was stolen, I'm trying to
find out if the car was on finance previously and perhaps they have
repossed it. OH told me he did check but i would like to check again.
It has been reported stolen, would the police know if it was subject to finance?

Sorry to keep on its doing my head in not being able to do anything.

They won't have repossessed it without warning and they would have checked the name and address of the current keeper first.
