    hi Dolly daydream
as a mum who made "armour" for thw DS many years ago here is a tip for making.
Punch holes in your little pieces of armour and join them together with "treasury tags" (little bits of cord with metal ends - school should have loads) i found these made the pieces more flexible and they didn't come apart.
Also good for making dragons scales hold together.

I re-use plastic carrier bags until they fall apart. I still use some Safeway ones even though my local store has been a Morrison now for 2 years! I do get some looks when I take these bags out to put the shopping in. I'll only accept a new one when I have run out completely.

I also re-use carrier bags until they are full of holes. Moreover I keep the flimsy, transparent bags provided to put in bread, etc. and take those with me to the shops as well.

All largish plastic bags of any kind, I cut to size and use them to line the birdcage bottom, then I can put the sand in etc. When I have to clean the cage I just pick everything up and dump the dirt and replace the lining. Since this means having to wash the cage less often, I save in:

    Hot water
    detergent
    time

and all because I won't chuck out plastic bags just like that.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
