  • I've suffered with clinical depression in the past (took anti-d's for a couple of years and had councilling which got me stable again). It's a problem that now only affects me fleetingly but seems to be really rearing its ugly head again - and I am sure it's linked with my debt problems.
My last partner harassed me for money for his business, saying 'it would go under', ' he would have no income', ' it will bring more money in'. He just kept going on and on till i caved in, eventually borrowing £2k from my credit card. Then it all started again, and again till I had lent him around £9k. He then left me. As well as that debt, I had to borrow to see us through the months as the credit card interest made my outgoings way more than my incomings. I am now £17k in debt.
I have registered with Payplan, cancelled all cards and made 31 a month repayment offers, which they are of course not happy with. (7 credit card companies).
My child and working tax has now been stopped cos they said i didnt send a form back (which I did) and I cant get through (been trying for days, they say too busy and then cut you off). I run my own business (which is losing money) and am a local Councillor (which is unpaid), so I dont have any spare time. The credit card comapnies keep hassling me for information which all takes time up. I am so busy and have a lot of deadlines but i just want to run and hide all of the time. I cannot afford to take time off sick and I desperately need a break. I dont know what to do any more. My coping levels are disappearing and am scared that one day soon they will go.
Where can I go from here? :( (cant take 'proud to be dealing with my debts' off! so sorry for irony)
