Emergency fake tan needed!

I am going to be wearing a dress on Thursday which is fairly monumental for me, the last time I wore a dress was nearly 3 years ago! My poor legs are lily white, so I need to fake tan them a bit beforehand, but I am nervous to do it because I have very dry skin on my feet and I'm worried about turning them orange!!

Are those moisturisers with fake tan in them any good for a quick fix? And do they turn your feet orange? If they wont do much colour wise, can anyone recommend a cheapish one that doesnt streak or anything? Sorry for all the questions :D

I'm really pale and I find that the only tan that doesn't leave me orange is fake bake. Its not cheap but it works and has a colour guide too which means no streaks.

Personally I don't rate the gradual moisturisers but then again, it could be because I miss bits.:rotfl:

Lots of salons do nice ones for £10 and you could advice them that you dont want the DARKEST one just a nice tinge.
:j I have a persecution complex. Everytime I pass a shoe shop they persecute me till I buy them:j

I had thought about a salon, but I wont have a chance to get to one as I'll have my son with me.

Ok, so if I have to do a proper tan to get a decent result rather than a gradual one, am I right in thinking I have to really properly exfoliate and moisturise first to try and stop it going patchy?

If i were you i'd get one of the instant tans that washes off, mistakes are easily washed away especially if your not confident as i've had many fake tan mistakes and its so upsetting when you've got an occasion. I have used the rimmel one and found it too be great for colour...i'm very white also. But there are loads about and if you want it darker build layers.

I personally only tan bits you can see if i'm doing instant..looks a bit dodgy when i'm undressed but no-one knows ;)
  • I usually use the Dove summer glow moisturiser, making sure it's really well rubbed in so it doesn't go streaky. I still use my regular body lotion the day after, though, just to be sure as the skin on my legs is pretty dry.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

I am absolutley useless with fake tan, BUT I have found that Asda own self tan moisturiser is fantastic, really is a subtle tan colour not orange at all, it was discontinued last year but restocked this year after popular demand.
It develops in hours, I usually put it on at night and when I wake up I am all tanned:D

Airstocking is a brilliant product which you spray onto your legs, then smooth over. It creates a lovely, smooth, tanned look and will stay put until you wash it off with soap and water. You can buy it online for around £15 or less usually (RRP is something like £24). Otherwise, Sally Hansen make a cheaper version - I've not tried it, but it may be worth a go.

I second this, choose the lightest version, there are two rimmel ones, one is totally matt and gives colour the other is more like a foundation so gives coverage and colour I like the second one and it has a sheen to it, my fav instant tanner is Loreal Glambronze, its basically a spray foundation, it says its for the legs but works brilliantly everywhere so you will look uniform, its not cheap usually about £14. If you want to try a wear off fake tan I would recommend Famous Daves or Boots Own Brand Soltan.
