I'm often depressed about having £2k debt and being rubbish with money, then i look on here and realise my problems are so minor in the grand scheme...
Try posting on the DFW board - do a Statement of Affairs (there's a template to complete). They're so brilliant there and will have lots of ideas on where you can cut back etc and chuck money at your debt and before you know it with that figure it'll be gone and you can have savings instead!
That's my goal but my figure is way more, so light years away from savings - but still closer every day! lol
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!0 -

Not entirely true, they can't do anything till they receive the stop notice but I believe its the inland revenue who send them out and you can talk directly to the inland revenue's department that sends them out, you could:
talk to IR and find if SLC have notified them to send out the stop notice, if not badger SLC.
Once they have make sure IR are sending it to the correct address for your companies payroll dept and if you're nice to them might even fax it there if you can get your payroll's fax number (esp if its close to the months payroll cut off date which your company's payroll dept will be able to tell you)0 -
Anyone have a good number to call Inland Revenue on??? I'm at a complete loss trying to find one online!0

UPDATE: I have just checked my bank balance today, and the money has gone through! I spoke to Student Loans yesterday, and they were remarkably helpful. So there you go! Good ol' Student Loans!0

Currently have a similar situation I finally realised lucky I changed Job’s in September and it was my new employer that realised that I had completed my student loan, So he worked out the minimum I would need to repay until the end of April when he could ring HRMC and inform them that I had nothing left owing. They accepted this, on closer examination he worked that I had over payed by £256. Now the problem is I never received a P45 from my old work place so payments for April 2010 to September are I can only account for a few as I only have a few pay slip’s, My current P60 from my new employer only shows the September to April 2011 contributions as they never received my P45 from my old work.
So the question is can I use what little payslips I have left to calculate the amount I may have paid from April 2010 to September 2010 as I did the same hours every month and am pretty sure I paid the same amount of student loan every month apart from the last.
Combined this with my current P60 to proceed to a reclaim.
If not what are my other options
Could I contact HRMC who could pass me details of how much I’ve paid which I could then pass on to Student Loan’s.
Any Guidance would be Great0
