I've been using Tresemme 24H Body volume shampoo and conditionner, and I really like them, they do give my hair some ooomph! :p

I second this, I have really flat hair and have tried loads including elvive, and this one actually works..

A couple of other tricks I use for special occasions is to spray sea salt water in my hair, and talcum powder in your hair works really well as well, really buffs the hair up (weird tip I know)

I had been using Lee Stafford volumising and thought it's quite good (Boots).

Then I tried an Ojon set from QVC. My hairdresser asked why my hair was suddenly so thick! They do all sorts of different types but I tried the volumising one, conditioner shampoo, pre treatment and hairspray-all good!

I would say both are good, but I now prefer the Ojon.

Sounds good, where do you get Ojon from? I have heard of it from another poster on here who raves about it but never seen it to buy anywhere, I seem to remember her mentioning QVC but I'm not sure:)

edit - sorry just re-read your post and saw you mentioned QVC, ignore me its early:ocan you buy it on the high street though?

Do you mind me asking how you've managed to achieve this? When I let my hair dry naturally I just get a ball of frizz :(

Ok, are you ready for this, it sounds a lot more complicated than it is once you start doing it, I'll keep it as short as possible;)

I have type 2 a/b hair, which is loose waves quite fine but a lot of it, frizz is my middle name if I don't follow my steps and since I have learned what heat does to hair I refuse to use it, I straightened and indeed curled when I felt like it since I was about 10 years old, well no more! My hair is also coloured a mid brown to cover grey I do this about every 6 weeks.

The shampoo and conditioner you use makes a huge difference, if its in good condition (not dry) use the volumising ones (yes really) if its on the dry side use a moisturising one, as you know I'm on the hunt for a volumising one I like but my hair is in pretty good condition so I am getting good results with herbal essences moisturising ones in the blue packaging.

Do not brush your hair, ever, wet or dry, when its wet you can run your fingers through it gently, in the shower use a small amount of shampoo and don't rub it in just apply gently and leave for about 20 seconds then let the water rinse it out, don't leave it on any longer its too harsh, then follow with conditioner, apply this as if applying body moisturiser, very gently, use quite a bit and again let the water rinse it, minimal touching and turn the shower to cold :eek:for the last minute or so, this makes a big difference, when finished dry your hair by placing a microfibre towel flat and plopping your hair on it and gather it together kind of scrunching it, don't rub and don't use a normal towel it will take away the moisture you have put in your hair, keep your hair very wet and scrunch in some gel, I have my head upside down at this point, its really important you use a gel without alcohol so you don't get crispiness, this will usually mean a really cheap one, I have a 23p one from Tesco Value, Morrisons do the same product and I'm sure others do to, gently scrunch in the gel, upside down at first, then rearrange you hair when you stand up, removing any tangles with your fingers, a bit more gel and part it to the side, this stops you getting triangle head and you can rearrange again later when its dry if you want, and thats it:Dleave it to air dry (takes quite a while)and your done, using the herbal essences means I have to wash mine every day atm cos the curl drops but when I find a volumising one I like it should need doing about twice a week:T also when I find a product I'm happy with I shall start washing my hair with conditioner only, this is great for curly hair as its non stripping, conditioner conatins a small amount of cleanser, enough for us curly girls, some people with very dry or frizzy hair mix a small amount of conditioner with the gel and use as above but I don't need this, curl creme from Boots is an alternative to conditioner if you need to do this.

Although my hair is quite long its not long enough for me so I add some wavy/curly clip in extensions when its dry.

You really will need to experiment to find the combo thats right for you but thats the basics, if you have any other questions let me know:)

I got mine in a set from QVC, not cheap but I feel its worth it. Also John Lewis if theres one near you, but with QVC if it doesn't suit you you can return it and get a refund.

Thanks very much for taking the time to write such a detailed reply. I shall be investing in a microfibre towel and some value hair gel this weekend!

Just thought I would update on this one, I managed to find the small sizes of the Treseme and it certainly gives a lot more volume than the Aussie one but unfortunately I just looked odd, thats the thing with wavy/curly hair, products work in a different way than you would think, for example products for curly hair actually relax my hair but this idea of using a volumising shampoo to help hold the curl and gives thickness just isn't working for me, the curl has dropped but gone horribly dry and electrified looking:eek:so I'm sticking with dds blue herbal essences and starting a new thread on moisturising products, thanks to all who advised me:D

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I made use of the 3 for £2 Tesco glitch a few months back and bought lots of John Frieda Luxurious Volume shampoo and conditioner and I love it!! I'll be happy to pay the full price (well, I'll look out for offers :p MSE and all that! lol) when these run out. This stuff is great, it's sorted out my "thin and lank by next morning" hair and after a day of having my hair tied up it always surprises me when I take it down and give it a bit of a shake that my hair is voluminous, thick and shiny, it's taken me 38 years to have hair like this!!
I might sound like an advert:o but it really has changed what I can do with my hair and I want to tell people in case it can help them :D.

    It's only a game
