Hello and thanks for taking the time to look in. I'm getting more into digital photography and have been browsing DSLR cameras for a little while, although I dont have anything in mind yet I was wondering if anyone came across anything cheep and easy to use, something for a beginner with a good resale reputation. (to sell on when i upgrade)
Any sites I can keep my eye on?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You need to decide who you want to live with, by that I mean whihc manufacturer over time you will buy new lenses ect and you dont want to be changing them all everytime you buy a new camera. so Nikon, Canon or Olympus?
Nikon have the D50 for entry level but dont really have that many diferent cameras to upgrade to D70 D80 then you go in tot he silly money range
Canon have loads to chose from and a varying price of them the curent entry is the 350d but it is soon to be replaced (november) with the 400d and they have quite a good range in prices on the higher end stuff.
Olympus only really have 2cameras so not much point as there isnt an upgrade path at the moment
You should be able to get some decent deals on the D50 ond the 350d as they are both being replaced very soon maybe even get a 2nd hand one for a good price, resale value will be the worst part not many people will pay alot for the older model.
As to which on to buy Im going down the canon route either the 400d in december or the 30d and spend a little more.0 -
OK well just a bit of advice needed here. I'm using a casio at the min and woundered it upgrading to a digital slr style type of camera would be better as in budget wise. Its a hobby and I cant justifie spending £400 ++, Is it the next best thing or just as good as ???

Correct me if im wrong but i think you will find that neither of these are true dslr cameras !!If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0 -
your not wrong, they are classed a dslr "style"MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0

Wow - this must be one of the best buy digital cameras that I have seen yet
Fuji s3000 with free case for £69.99 + p&p from fuji website.
The 3500 is £79.99 with no free case
Surely a bargain in anyones book
check it out
Here
P.s. I Love Fuji digital cameras - would recommend them to anyoneIf at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0 -
The only thing that makes them have DSRL style as the description is due to the sise they cand class them as compact the canon is classed as a compact as the lense is retractable.
Out of those 2 I would go for the fuji but it is just over 1 year old and the release price wasnt much more than the ebuyer price.
You want DSLR on an un reasonable budget your not going to get anything like DSLR for quality for that type of money. the above will give you a feel for DSLR and you will regret buying either of them as soon as you buy one as you will have spent £130+ on somthing you didnt really want.
Save up wait till later in the year till they are almost giving the older 350d and D50's away.0 -
There are already quite a few threads on this topic.
My personal preferences are the Nikon D50, Canon 350D and the Pentax.
