Loans serve a purpose Hur, and if they can be paid back and you can afford one, then there is no reason why you shouldnt apply to fund a car, home improvements etc...

I agree that they do not serve a purpose when someone is in debt - but otherwise they are fine.

I'm sorry but I don't think you've not thought this through,let me put a counter point -

1. Weddings - The sooner a strain is put on the relationship then the sooner we can split up.
2. Consolidation - The guy from ruinyourlife.com said it was the only way forward so it must be OK!
3. Holiday - yes, after the strain of all these debts !
4 . Saving - saving is for old people - move on
5. Gifts - yes of course,my 'lil Chelsea/Chardonnay/Wayne is gonna have that iPhone
